This publication is intended for individuals who are just beginning their piano learning journey. The book has been designed to allow teachers to easily explain to their students what eighth notes are, how to count them, and how to play them. The exercises are graded in terms of difficulty to facilitate a thorough understanding of the subject and rapid progress.
It is a great resource for those who have never encountered the concept of eighth notes before. It can be seen as an introduction to slightly more challenging and rhythmically complex pieces. The initial exercises enable the practice of each hand separately, which is crucial for maintaining proper hand positioning on the keyboard and eliminating any unnecessary muscle tension.
All exercises are written in the "Middle C Position," the simplest hand position on the keyboard from which most students begin their learning journey. This further facilitates focusing on rhythm comprehension, as unfamiliar notes do not distract the student. I intentionally omitted fingerings above and below the notes to provide students with the opportunity to practice fluid note reading.
The book will work wonderfully as a textbook for young children as well as adults. I hope it proves helpful, facilitating students' learning process, and becoming an interesting alternative for teachers alongside other music textbooks.
